
Social Responsibility
The ambition to enshrine Social Responsibility in our operations is part of our vision which guides our strategy and everyday work.
We have introduced a range of policies and practices which aim to add value to the social impact of our operations. These include:
- A positive approach to equality and diversity – which values the differences in individuals and communities and responds accordingly
- An outward looking approach to the development of communities where we operate – ensuring that our housing and services ‘add value’ and are relevant to local needs
- Positive measures that promote community safety and attractive environments where people want to live
- Proactively promoting financial and social inclusion, ensuring that disadvantaged groups have access to our homes and services
- Encouraging positive health through advice and promotions for staff and customers
- Promoting a positive working environment where people enjoy working, are able to develop and, through a range of family-friendly policies, able to balance home-work responsibilities
- Adopting a responsible and proactive approach to the health and safety of our staff and contractors we employ
- Showing respect for the environment by considering the environmental impact when we build new homes and in our day-to-day operations
- A commitment in our values to ethical dealing and a strong approach to governance to ensure honesty and accountability
