Stockport housing partnership

The Stockport Housing Partnership was first established in 1992 and is now into its third phase, which involves the five original RSL (regional social landlord) members plus the recently formed ALMO.

Phase 1 concentrated upon maximising the number of affordable homes for rent completed. The Partnership substantially exceeded its target of 450 homes and produced 620 properties. Phase 2 (1999) broadened the Partnership’s objectives to include homes for shared ownership and the provision of accommodation for people with special needs.

Closer co-operation on housing management between the partners was also encouraged and regeneration initiatives brought new life to the town centre. Phase 3 of the Partnership (2004) builds upon the previous achievements in delivering new affordable homes and partnership working but now gives increased emphasis to meeting the housing needs of the BME communities in the town.
