Tenancy End Checklist

Tenancy End Checklist

When you have given notice to end your tenancy, please refer to this checklist:

  • Please contact your local Manager to arrange for the handover of all keys to the property.  Please ensure that you have collected the keys from all known keyholders.
  • Ensure that any outstanding accounts, such as council tax, water rates, electricity, gas and telephone covering the period of the tenancy have been paid in full and that you have advised the utility companies of your forwarding address.
  • Arrange for mail forwarding by the Post Office.
  • In accordance with your Tenancy Agreement signed at the commencment of the tenancy, the porperty should be left in a neat, clean and good decorative condition, with all fixtures and fittings in good working order.
  • An inspection of the property will be made as soon as possible. The Trust reserves the right to recharge to you the cost of any remedial work that may be required, including the making good of any decoration and replacement of missing keys.
  • Ensure that all of your furniture and other belongings are removed from the property by the termination date. Any property left behind will be treated as unwanted goods and subject to immediate disposal.  The cost of any such disposal will be rechargable to you and could be more expensive than if you arranged to dispose of it yourself.
  • Please ensure that your rent is paid up to the date of termination of your tenancy.
