Johnnie Johnson Housing has announced that its telecare business Astraline is expanding following the successful acquisition of Peaks & Plains Housing Trust’s private telecare business. Astraline is now extending its range of services to support customers to maintain their independence.
Macclesfield-based housing provider Peaks & Plains has supported people across Cheshire East to live independently at home for 30 years. This has included a 24/7 emergency response, falls lifting service and falls prevention advice.
Twelve members of the Trust’s team will now be employed by Astraline. Six will join the existing telecare team at Astra House and six first aid-trained staff will form a mobile responder service for Astraline.
Living longer, living better
Astraline is a leading specialist provider of caring, responsive and reliable services, offering reassurance to individuals, families, and organisations in order to help people maintain their independence by ‘living longer, living better’. Astraline is part of Johnnie Johnson Housing, a not-for-profit housing association dedicated to offering quality homes for independent living.
Jamie Hutchinson, Director of Customers for Peaks & Plains said “It was crucial for us to find a provider that we trusted to continue this support for our customers. In part we selected Astraline for its experience in the sector and its commitment to investing in the necessary technology. We know that Astraline’s expertise in delivering services to older and vulnerable people can only be enhanced by the addition of our experienced team.
Enhancing the offer from Astraline
Joe McLoughlin, Assistant Director of Astraline said “We are absolutely delighted to have been successful in acquiring the Trust’s private payer service. We are excited to enhance our existing services across the Cheshire East region and look forward to welcoming these new members of the team into our organisation. We have ambitious aspirations here at Astraline and believe that acquiring such a fantastic service is a key milestone in our growth and service development plans”.
The transfer has completed for existing Peaks & Plains Housing Trust’s private customers. (The Trust continues to support customers through the Cheshire East telecare contract until a new provider for that service can be found.) Astraline anticipates that the service will soon open to new customers living in the Cheshire East region.
