Johnnie Johnson Housing has welcomed Steve Allcock as Director of ICT, Data & Digital Transformation.

Steve joined in May 2020, with ambitious plans to develop and progress our housing services through market-leading digital technology.

A qualified practitioner in Managing Strategic Programmes (PINCE2 MSP), Steve has over fifteen years’ experience in digital strategies, product and project management and is a regular member on the judging panel at the International Awards for Digital Experience.

He has worked within a variety of industries, with roles including Head of Digital at Universities Superannuation Scheme, Head of Customer Experience & Business Change at Atos IT Consultancy, Senior Digital Product Manager at Bupa Health Insurance and Online Product Manager at TalkTalk.

Steve has extensive experience of web and portal development and delivering omni-channel contact solutions, including Webchat, Chatbots, and Social Media interactions and secure messaging facilities. He has also delivered industry first mobile app technology to the B2B Telco sector, as well as Health Insurance Corporate sector.

Steve commented:

‘Delivering innovative digital market-leading technology within the housing and telecare sector is a primary focus for me. Johnnie Johnson Housing is an ambitious and bold organisation that always strives to improve the lives of its customers. If I can contribute to the continued success of this organisation, by leading an exciting roadmap of change, then I see that as extremely rewarding.

‘I care passionately about providing excellent customer service and experience, through digital technology, which can enrich so many people’s lives. Personally, we all have experience of caring for and supporting elderly friends and relatives, so when thinking about what I could bring to the company and how that might benefit those I care about, it felt like a natural fit and a worthy incentive.’

Johnnie Johnson Housing’s recruiting panel were inspired by Steve’s passion for digital technology to support those who are most vulnerable.

Chief Executive, Yvonne Castle, who led the interview panel, said:

‘We had already embarked on the journey of digital transformation at Johnnie Johnson Housing when the Covid pandemic hit, which has really accelerated the requirement for digital within many companies.

‘As a society, the events over the last three months have really shown how important the technology is to people and businesses. Staying virtually connected to friends and family, working from home, delivering services without the need for human participation, are suddenly business as usual. As a result, we are seeing something of a digital revolution and Steve’s appointment couldn’t have been more timely. We have always had bold ambitions for digital transformation within our business and are delighted we have been able to attract an experienced digital leader like Steve to help us deliver that in record time. ’
