Today we launched the trial of Morrisons’ Doorstep Delivery service to JJH customers in selected postcode areas*. We have been working closely with the supermarket chain to get the service up and running in our residential areas.
The service is specifically designed for the elderly and vulnerable, including those who are shielding or unable to get to the shops themselves.
Residents place their shopping order over the phone with Morrisons on 0345 611 6111 (option 5) and orders placed before 5pm Monday to Saturday will be delivered the next day.
Customers have already expressed delight at the introduction of the service. Eileen Fry, told us: “It is exciting. I can’t wait for further information and a start date.”
Head of Customer Operations at Johnnie Johnson Housing, Kate McArdell Broome, said: “This is a very important service for those of our customers who are either unable to use online shopping services or get to the shops themselves.
“We’re delighted that we’ve been able to get Morrisons to trial this in our residential areas. If demand for the service is high enough we will roll it out to more areas in October.”
The Doorstep Delivery service is available in the following postcodes from Monday 14 September.
