Our dedicated housing development and growth team has been expanding over the last few months.
- Lin Powell – Director of Development and Growth
- Stephanie Mason -Head of Development and Growth
Lin and Steph joined JJH in February and have been working on growing the team to enable us to meet our ambitious development strategy.
To support Lin and Steph we now have four further staff members:
- Connie Somerville – Development and Growth Manager
- Bronte Laing – Senior Development and Growth Officer
- Amy Baker – Development and Growth Officer
- Carson Holt – Development and Growth Officer
The team will be focused on our commitments and plans to create 1000 new homes across the North West, Yorkshire, Derby and the North East with a forward thinking and dynamic approach. The team are committed to ensuring we are the market leader of Independent living for over 55s.
We are currently building 45 homes across 3 sites in Doncaster, Handforth and High Peak. And have just taken handover of 8 one bed apartments in Handforth which will be available for affordable rent for those over the age of 55.
Sustainability is a high priority for the development team and we are exploring the use of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) and alternative installations to reduce the use of gas in our new homes. The homes currently being built in Doncaster are utilising MMC and are timber framed and all homes in High Peak are being installed with ground source heat pumps instead of gas boilers. The team are also attending training around MMC so we can explore different options and improve our offer.
The development team want to take the time to talk to our residents to see what works well for them and what doesn’t, how we can improve on our new schemes and what we should be doing. We will also be speaking to local authorities and business partners.
