Cost of Living and Winter Fuel payments

Cost of living payment

The government has announced a one-off payment of £650 to help with the “cost-of-living” rise and this will be paid in 2 instalments.

The first Payment of £326 will be paid between the 14th and the 31st  of July and the second payment in the Autumn.

The qualifying benefits are:

  • Child Tax Credit
  • Income Based Job Seekers Allowance
  • ESA (Income related)
  • Income support
  • Universal Credit
  • Pension Credit
  • Working Tax Credit

This payment will be paid to all those that were entitled to a qualifying benefit on 25th May 2022.

 

Winter Fuel payment

There will also be a £300 winter fuel payment made if you are of pensionable age – this is in addition to the cost-of-living payment.

This payment will be made in November and the amount awarded may vary dependent on the individuals’ circumstances.
