This year Johnnie Johnson Housing held their Christmas party from a state-of-the-art studio in South Manchester, on Friday 11th December.

Following government guidelines, Johnnie Johnson Housing worked with Connect In, one of the leading production companies in the UK, to create a three and half-hour interactive production that included live voting, cocktail making, fun Christmas party games and a Prime Minister-style question panel.

Yvonne Castle, CEO of the social housing provider said: ‘Our annual Christmas party is an opportunity to celebrate colleague achievements and network with team members from across the organisation. This year good communication, colleague recognition and a sense of community is now more important than ever and Connect In helped us create an event that did just that.’

The event offered a unique opportunity to reflect and celebrate team achievements, hear from the Executive Team and feedback and input on next year’s corporate plan.

Emma Midgley, Head of Transformation and Communication at Johnnie Johnson Housing said: ‘I was really impressed with how Connect In supported us to create a fun and informative virtual event. The event consisted of pre-recorded content, live voting, awards, and updates from our Executive Team. We also had a live cocktail masterclass – which everybody could join in with from home! The feedback we have received from colleagues has been heart-warming and goes to show how well we have adapted as an organisation during the pandemic.’

Jordan Walker, Senior Client Experience Manager at Connect In stated: “It was a pleasure working with Emma and the communications team at Johnnie Johnson Housing to produce their annual Christmas Colleague engagement event – virtually. It became apparent fairly quickly that we both had very creative ideas on how to deliver the event content in a fun, engaging way whilst still getting across important corporate messages and the end results speak for themselves – a seamless near 3 hour TV style production.”

With help from Connect In, Johnnie Johnson Housing demonstrated how organisations can create a sense of community during a pandemic through live virtual events.
