‘Elvis’ Entertains at Park House, Droylsden

Making a difference

Building a sense of community makes all the difference to the wellbeing of your neighbours and family and friends. Holding events which bring people together, to experience music, food and laughter is always guaranteed to lift spirits.

Residents over in Droylsden have been doing exactly that, to help make people feel good and build on their existing happy community.

Elvis visits Park House

A fantastic Elvis impersonator visited Park House, Droylsden, Manchester, last Sunday to entertain residents, while they enjoyed a meal and a drink together. They even got to sing along with him!

There was a great turnout and tremendous community spirit – 48 residents, together with friends and family and some neighbours from Woodford Court, thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The committee even shared the pizza and cake with the workmen working on the fire doors.

Resident, Susan Rushton told us:
“It was really good seeing everyone enjoying themselves – chatting, singing, laughing and dancing.. ‘Elvis’ kissing all the ladies, shaking hands with the men…”

Summer Garden Party

The next planned event is their summer garden party in August, with a barbecue, cocktails on the terrace with another singer. Friends and families can again, join in as well.

Susan told us how much occasions like this bring the residents together – “it’s not just residents, it’s future residents, children grandchildren, local families, neighbours and friends.”

Your community events

If you have a story to share about the events in your local community please contact us. We would love to find out more. Meanwhile, as the weather warms up (hopefully) and the sun comes out undoubtedly many of our residents will be making use of their gardens once again.

Furthermore, many will look to celebrate the Kings Coronation. We look forward to seeing your stories coming in. Simply email your story to communications@jjhousing.co.uk
