On Tuesday 2nd August, the residents of Manston Lodge held a Coffee Morning to raise money in the fight against Breast Cancer. Manston Lodge is located in Stockport, Cheshire within the North West. Specifically, the residents raised money for the charity Macmillan Cancer Support. Macmillan not only provides specialised health care for people who are dealing with cancer, but they also look at the social, emotional and practical impact that cancer can have on peoples lives. Macmillan campaigns to have better support and pastoral care for cancer patients.
The efforts of the staff and residents at Manston Lodge managed to raise £137 for Macmillan, a great amount. It is wonderful to hear that our residents are fundraising and supporting such worthy causes.
The event included baked goods, such as butterfly cakes, chocolate cake and cookies. We are glad to hear that our residents had a nice time and that they donated generously. Perhaps this can inspire similar events across Johnnie Johnson Housing.
