The Great Digital Giveaway

This year, Johnnie Johnson Housing partnered with Unilever who, as part of their commitment to reduce landfill, as well as their agenda to help reduce digital exclusion, donated over 100 reconditioned laptops for us to distribute to residents who needed them most.

All Johnnie Johnson Housing customers were invited to submit an application, explaining how and why a laptop would help them. We helped lots of residents fill out the forms and then each laptop was hand delivered to its new owner. Colleagues from across the organisation made sure customers were all set up and ready to go with their new devices.

Prior to the laptop giveaway, we also ran an open prize draw competition to win brand new Apple items. The prizes for the prize draw competition were also generously donated by Unilever.

The purpose of these initiatives is to help our residents develop their digital skills. We are continuously offering help and support to boost our residents’ confidence to use digital devices and get online, with our dedicated digital drop ins and digital sessions provided by our Digital Coach, Jack. Visit this page to find out the upcoming dates or request a digital session.

“I am over the moon. Due to my love of travel and charity walks, I can now plan my walks and trips by checking train timetables and google maps to plan my journey.”
